Great news for gift givers: Clover Market Holiday Market is back. The carefully curated collection of vintage and artisan goods for homes, people and pets will feature 100 vendors at its holiday market, held Dec. 2-3 from 10 am – 4 pm inside the athletic center at Westtown School in West Chester.
The shopping festivities kick off with a VIP hour from 9 am – 10 am on Dec. 2. Entrance to the general market is free; tickets for the VIP hour are $25 and can be purchased here. The VIP ticket includes an eco-friendly Clover Market tote bag, a non-alcoholic Molly’s Mule from Bluestem Botanicals and hot coffee. “The VIP hour is a wonderful opportunity to chat with vendors before the event gets crowded, and of course you get first dibs on the items for sale, some of which are one-of-a-kind pieces,” said Janet Long, founder of Clover Market.

Clover Market’s last holiday market was at the Baldwin School in Dec. 2019, weeks before COVID-19 shut down the world. Since then, Long has been searching for the right place to host the event. “It was a multi-year search to find a venue that would work in terms of how much event space we’d have, how much parking there would be for our customers, and what other events were happening in the area,” she explained.

Westtown, the private school set on 600 acres of picturesque land in West Chester, is the perfect place, Long said. Within reasonable driving distance for people who frequent Clover Market’s outdoor events in Kennett Square, Bryn Mawr and Chestnut Hill, Westtown also has an athletic center that is big enough to host 100 vendors and their 10 x 10 booths.
“My son played soccer games there at Westtown, so I spent quite a few hours on that soccer field looking at the Field House thinking about what a great building it was,” Long said. “It’s the perfect place for our holiday market.”

Having the market inside immunizes the event from the weather, which took a toll on this fall’s outdoor events. “I think it rained for 7 weeks in a row,” Long said with a sigh. “We were dodging storms for our markets, as were a lot of other events. Many vendors had a challenging fall financially because they lost market days. For them, the holiday season will be even more important this year.”

Some of the holiday market’s vendors will be familiar to patrons of Clover Market’s outdoor events, but Long took special care to feature gift-friendly makers and sellers. “I tried to get a nice mix of different folks with different styles, merchandise and price points,” she said. “We have ceramics, jewelry, gourmet pantry items, things for kids, things for pets and more. Some of the vintage vendors have holiday barware, décor and other magical things.”
Clover Market Holiday Market will feature face and hand painting from BZG Artistry, savor and sweet eats from Clean Plate Club, Philly Hots, Lola Patisserie and other food vendors.
