Fall is always a wonderful time for art lovers, with events, fairs and exhibitions every weekend. In September, a wide range of shows celebrate the diversity and depth of the local art community. Check out these highlights of the upcoming arts calendar!

Aug. 28 – Oct. 5
This joint exhibition by Philadelphia Sculptors and Tri-State Sculptors will showcase some truly exceptional pieces, with mixed media sculptures from 26 artists. This is a show that deserves to be seen in person for the full multidimensional experience. Fine Arts Center at Montgomery County Community College, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell.

Sept. 5 – 27
This moving tribute presents artworks by fine artists who were paired with loved ones of victims of gun violence to portray their unique souls and impact. It is part of a much larger effort to shine a light on the people taken by the epidemic of gun violence across the country, with a focus on the lives lived rather than the violence that took them away. Learn more at soulsshotportraitproject.org. Chester County Art Association, 100 North Bradford Ave., West Chester.

Sept. 6 – 30
Unis Mundus, “One World,” features works by abstract painter Jessica Matier, and glass artist Steven Schaefer. It is a celebration of the ways art can intertwine in multiple dimensions in one of the most exciting new galleries in the area. Werring Contemporary, 218 Church St., Phoenixville.

Brandywine Festival of the Arts
Sept. 7 – 8
One of the largest art events of the year! A tradition for over 50 years, this year is sold out for vendors, and will be a packed day of art at Brandywine Park in Wilmington. Sept. 9 – Oct. 20
Small works of art are tiny treasures, meant to delight and inspire. This exhibition with over 100 artists features works in a variety of mediums, and a fantastic opportunity to discover new artists and see the details of these exquisite artworks. Workshops and demonstrations will also be held throughout the exhibition, see the Main Line Art Center’s website for more information. Main Line Art Center, 746 Panmure Road, Haverford.
