Ciao Bella, one of the region’s biggest and best spa and salon networks, is thrilled to launch its new makeup and skincare products. Ciao Bella, a network of 20 salons in senior living communities throughout Montgomery, Chester and Delaware Counties, specializes in skincare, hair and beauty services for people over age 55.

“For many years, my clients would ask for recommendations on beauty products that we did not offer,” said Tina Fortebuono, Ciao Bella’s owner. “I decided to move forward to branding my own products, but it was a huge expense and very time consuming. So, I researched for over a year and found Motives Makeup and many other skin care products that we now offer.”

Motives Makeup includes lipstick and lip gloss, concealer, eyeshadow, blush and eyebrow care. Available for sale online and in Ciao Bella’s salons, Motives Makeup is cruelty-free and gentle enough for all skin types. “I always align myself with brands I can stand by,” Fortebuono said. “It’s not about how many sales I can make, but how many lives we can touch. Beauty is always from the inside out but when you can provide excellent service, products and compassion, clients keep coming back for more.”
Ciao Bella’s skin care line includes Skintelligence, which is all-natural and gentle, and Lumiere, which has anti-aging properties. “Our products our sensitive enough for our clients but powerful enough to deliver results,” Fortebuono said. “Everything I bring to the salons is about our residents and to further my belief that beauty is ageless.”

Fortebuono is also bringing Ciao Bella’s beauty and wellness services into clients’ homes and offices. Offering hair styling, massages, makeup application, and spray tans, Ciao Bella Mobile Spa is perfect for everything from proms to weddings, girlfriend gatherings to romantic date nights and self-care treats.
While the mobile spa’s services are for people of all ages, Fortebuono came up with the idea while caring for her salons’ senior citizen clients. “Sometimes clients couldn’t make it to the salon because they had surgery or just weren’t feeling well, or they wanted a private service,” Fortebuono explained. “Since my staff is already trained in dementia and senior care, the clients and their families asked me to take care of their needs in their homes.”

Fortebuono also offers Ciao Bella Mobile Spa to people who lived outside of senior living communities – and to brides and grooms, working men and women, stay-at-home moms, and everyone else who wants a private spa and salon services in their own home or office. Already, Ciao Bella Mobile Spa’s business is 50% senior care and 50% parties and individual clients. “It’s a VIP luxury at an affordable price,” Fortebuono said. “My experts bring all of their tools to your space and create a beauty and wellness experience for you, your friends or your employees.”
Reiki, hot stone and pregnancy massages are on Ciao Bella’s service menu, as are sleep massages, aromatherapy, and cupping. Facials include botanical, anti-aging, hydration and eye calming. Makeup can be done as a class or for special occasions. Hair services are customized to clients’ needs, and mobile spray tanning is available.

Appointments are booked through Ciao Bella’s concierge. “There’s no app,” Fortebuono said with a laugh. “My mobile spa coordinator speaks with each client on the phone to ask questions and find out exactly what they need.”
Because her employees are going into clients’ homes and offices, Fortebuono put security measures in place. All of Ciao Bella’s stylists and technicians passed background checks. Everyone is vaccinated against COVID-19 and can wear masks if requested.
Fortebuono is launching the mobile spa as she celebrates the 30th anniversary of opening her first Ciao Bella, a salon in King of Prussia. The Archbishop John Carroll High School graduate started her beauty empire with passion, hard work and the support of her parents, both of whom immigrated to the U.S. from Italy.

While the makeup line and mobile spa service are big ventures, Fortebuono is excited about offering her clients – and employees – new ways to experience beauty and wellness. “I want the best for everyone, whether they are in our salons, or in their homes or offices,” she said.
